Students will be able to read nonfiction for speaker's tone and purpose and the devices used to attain those.
Students will be able to read poetry and fiction to indentify mood based on the writer's word choice and other devices.
Monday: SSR, Writer's Notebook: grammar, journal Halloween
Tuesday: SSR, Rotations- 1. History of Halloween (nonfiction), 2. Vocabulary for the nonfiction, 3. Come together -Writing reflection
Wednesday: SSR, Rotations- 1. Listen and read piece, 2. Define literary devices, 3. Come together- find devices in piece
Thursday: SSR, Rotations- 1. Poem 1, 2. Poem 2, 3. Inner Outer circle discussing poems
Friday: SSR, FWF, catch up day (first time trying rotations, think we might be overbooked)
